Hanover, 07 February 2008 --- Höft & Wessel AG in Hanover, with its Skeye business division, and Impactit GmbH in Vienna are improving communication during transportation of patients.

Football events, like this year's European Championships in Austria and in Switzerland, require long term planning. Part of the preparation for this major event this summer is also to organise ambulance deployments in the best possible way. That is why the Red Cross, St. John's and the Samaritan Federation have combined forces in order to structure mobile communication during the transportation of patients as perfectly as possible.

The call was for a system solution for fast transfer of data between the control station and the vehicle using mobile radio, for scanning of health insurance cards, printing out transportation documents, GPS navigation, connecting medical devices using Bluetooth, sending emergency call and voice communication request signals, advance notice of patients to the hospital, cashless payment and connection to the control station and clearing system. This is made possible by the software specialists of Impactit and the handy skeye.pad POS from Skeye.

The decision in favour of the skeye.pad POS is based on a number of convincing features: the integrated printer and chip card reader, the large, and the easy to read display and easy handling, which can be  mounted in place within the vehicle or as a portable mini-PC. Within the scope of a pilot study, a few hundred devices will be tested for practical use as of May, because nothing will be left to chance in this regard when it comes to the European Championships.
